American Insulock, Inc. (Insulock) is recognized as a world leader of manufacturing an eco-friendly, energy efficient polyurethane block for commercial and residential projects. The blocks interlock to form a structural wall with post and beam construction.

The Insulock Block which measures 8”x8”x 32” weighs approximately 2 lbs and is a lower cost alternative for masonry block and cast-in place concrete. Insulock Block construction provides superior insulating properties (R-38), unmatched sound attenuation characteristics, a Class-1 fire rating, lower labor costs and speed of project completion. The Block also has a patent pending for a design which includes a “screw strip” molded in the block which will enable existing interior wall technology fabrication.

GC Tech, a transportation planning and design engineering firm in Los Angeles recently renewed its affiliation and association with Insulock. The two firms collaborated together on the design and construction of a very successful innovative, cost-effective, eco-friendly sound wall for the California Department of Transportation (“Caltrans”) that abuts the right-of-way along the I-101 Freeway in Encino, CA. “It is our desire to apply this technology for attenuating noise and for addressing other design-build product issues related to saving costs, reducing installation time and purposes” said Emile Gardner, Vice President of GC Tech.

While polyurethane has been developed for use in many applications, this is the first time a molded building block has been produced. The result is a block that is resistant to dry rot, insects, rodents and termites; while being able to save significant money and time by reducing concrete consumption and the build time by one-third.

Insulock is the leader in innovative building technologies making a global difference for a greener, cleaner world.

Insulock building technology was originally developed in the early 1980’s. Independent contractors have used Insulock technology to build hundreds of projects in Canada and the United States. These projects have proven Insulock’s speed and utility in the field, and confirmed Insulock’s long-term performance benefits in reducing energy usage and increasing building durability.

The company is positioned to move rapidly towards growth and profitability. The company has been focused on developing existing relationships and has recently announced a joint development agreement with a global polyurethane manufacturer to support the anticipated growth both locally and internationally.
